Pharmacist’s Note
“This combination pack is a common recommendation for patients seeking comprehensive management of severe cold and flu symptoms. The daytime formula addresses key symptoms like cough and congestion without causing drowsiness, while the addition of an antihistamine (Triprolidine) in the night formula effectively manages runny nose and sneezing to aid sleep. It is critical for patients to be aware of the Acetaminophen content and avoid taking other medications containing it to prevent overdose. Always dose accurately with the provided cup.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the main difference between the Day and Night formulas?
The Day formula contains Guaifenesin, an expectorant to help clear chest congestion. The Night formula does not contain Guaifenesin but includes Triprolidine HCl, an antihistamine that helps with runny nose and sneezing and can cause drowsiness, which may help you rest.
Can I take Mucinex Fast-Max and Nightshift at the same time?
No. Do not take both medicines at the same time. You should only take one at a time, allowing at least 4 hours between doses. Do not exceed a total of 6 doses of either product in a 24-hour period.
Why is the liver warning for Acetaminophen so important?
Acetaminophen is a safe and effective medicine when used as directed, but taking too much can lead to severe, irreversible liver damage. It is found in many different OTC and prescription medicines, so it’s crucial to read all labels to avoid accidentally taking too much.
